Steve and Laurie Augustino Instructional Media Center: About Us

Mission and Vision

The GHS Media Center strives to be an integral part of the school’s total instructional program. Our mission is to promote information access, knowledge, and literacy, and to prepare students to find, evaluate, and use information effectively. We aim to create an environment which encourages all students to utilize information resources and acquire skills to become lifelong independent learners. The media center provides comprehensive support, instruction, and materials to all students and faculty, and offers a wide variety of resources to support and complement the instructional program. Our extensive collection includes print and non-print resources including: books, online databases, eBooks, magazines, newspapers, DVD’s, and more.

Our vision is to support student achievement by integrating information literacy and information technology skills into the content curriculum and to ensure that students and staff are effective users and creators of ideas and information.
